Anti Aging Physicians-How Do You Pick One?
There are quite a few anti aging physicians around. So how do you know which one to pick and which one to go to? Are some better than others? Are there things that you should check for and know before you make your appointment? There are some things to consider when choosing your anti aging physicians and this article will help you get on the right track.
1. Remember that anti aging physicians are really like any other types of physicians-there are good ones and bad ones. To begin with, ask around. You don’t have to tell people why you want to go to one, but it might help to get firsthand experiences. There are no better reviews then the ones that come from your friends.
2. Do some internet research. If you don’t want to ask your friends and colleagues, then try to do some research on the internet. You will probably find some good information. Resist going by the testimonials that might exist on the doctor’s own website. After all, are they really going to post anything negative?
3. Is the doctor licensed? This might not cross your mind if you are thinking about having something done such as Microdermabrasion. However, anti aging physicians should be licensed the same as any other doctor. If you are going to a spa, for instance, to have the procedure done you can actually ask to see the license.
4. Do they offer a free consultation? If they don’t and you decide to go ahead with the procedure that you pick, will they apply the consultation fee that you have already paid to your overall bill? This can save you money.
5. Do they take insurance? While most insurance companies won’t pay for cosmetic procedures, some things can have health benefits to you, such as removing a mole that could turn cancerous, and insurance might cover that. It is important to find out if anti aging physicians take insurance because that could also save you money.
6. Do they offer cash reduction? If you pay in cash, instead of in payments or with insurance, is the price lower?
7. What is their experience like? Have they done the procedure that they will be doing on you before? You might feel uncomfortable with someone performing a deep chemical peel if it is their first time. For that reason, you should probably stay away from “schools” where the students practice on patients. Although they are supervised by a doctor and are generally fine, your comfort level might suffer.
8. Do they charge for follow up visits? Some visits might require you to return a couple of days later for them to check on you. Will they charge for that?
9. What is their facility like? Is it pretty and homey? Or is it sterile and bland? You can take a tour of the facility before you ever make an appointment. Ask to look around to familiarize yourself with it. If you don’t like it, don’t go.
